The courtyard at Kishiwada Koutougakkou was small enough that the sound of Yamamoto Hideki's guitar could be heard at the table farthest from the small bench he was perched on. No one seemed to mind, for the moment, and for that Hide was thankful. He could hardly get any room to play at home; there were only four tiny rooms in the house, including the kitchen and bathroom, and it seemed like wherever Hide went, his mother followed. Sometimes he longed to live with his father, but Hide knew that he was stuck in Kishiwada until he finished Year 3.
Today was a Saturday, the weather was nice, and today, Hideki found himself at school. Instead of studying, however, like many of the students around him were, or attending his required one Saturday of school a month, he was playing guitar.
"Weekend... Weekend... I'm at my wit's end..." Hideki's English was very sloppy, but he was only whispering the lyrics to the X Japan song, and besides that, no one cared. Hide was alone as always. He was too shy to speak to the other students, and even if he hadn't been, everyone looked busy. Hide wasn't bold enough to interrupt someone.
His looks told a different story, however. Hide's hair was shocking pink, shaggy and razor-cut. Today he hadn't bothered to style it, and it hung limp over his face as he played. His eyes weren't rimmed with their usual dark eyeshadow today, instead he had a pair of dark sunglasses on. Anyone would recognize him, though, with that hair and that guitar.
Hide's guitars were his babies. They were the only possessions of value the boy had. His family couldn't afford much. His clothes were secondhand, anything he wanted to buy he saved up for. But he had three guitars. The one he was using today was his acoustic, plain except for the guitar he'd covered completely in stickers.
Hide didn't notice that his playing was getting louder as he went on, and he was sure to be interrupting someone's studying soon. He wouldn't mind someone to talk to, though, even if they were yelling at him.

"I'm in over my head, so in over my head"
She mumbled to herself, skimming the book placed before her. the words seemed scribbled together like gibberish, A language she was far from familiar with. Not to mention the damn book was backward. Who if their right mind did that? Well, leave it to japan. She didn't understand why they had to move here of all places in the world.
America, yes, she knew english, she knew their customs, she knew her way around. France, oh how she longed to go back to the smooth french accents and the smell of the cafe`s along the streets. Hell, she probably would have preferred Africa to Japan. Everything was just so... Foreign. Though she knew that to everyone around her, she was the only foreign thing on this part of the grounds. This she was constantly reminded of by the looks and the whispers of Gaijin as others passed her. She knew she was different.
A soft sigh left her lips and she straightened out her blue skirt and pushed her hair over her shoulder, attempting to ready herself to plunge her nose back into the jumbled words of her Japanese 3 study book. However, this proved to be of no use as one of the students plopped down not far from her and began strumming on his guitar. At first, she welcomed the distraction, though as he got louder she only wished for him to stop so that she could study for her exam. A sideways glance was casted in the male's direction. She studied him carefully, yet was overwhelmed by the mere fact that his hair was pink. Hot fucking pink. Was he out of his mind?
A huff was sounded and she racked her mind for some sort of word in his language, only to come up with one "hora" She said looking up at him, then drawing a blank, referred back to her native tongue"pouvez-vous arrêter, s'il vous plaît" It didn't register that she had asked something of him in french until she said it "Sorry.. umm Can you please stop playing? I'm trying to study" She muttered, her cheeks flushing slightly from embarrassment.

Hideki stopped his strumming at the 'hora', listening attentively and looking up at the girl. He even pushed his shock of pink hair out of his face to get a better look. He had never seen her before, and honestly he was shocked by her, just as she was shocked by him. Her eyes were the bluest he'd ever seen. When she began to speak in French, it just added to this.
For that moment of French, he simply stared up at her and furrowed his brow. "I am sorry..." He began to explain that he didn't understand French in English to her, but then she spoke again, and he nodded. "Ah."
Hide looked down to his guitar with a frown. Just like his mother, she was. He patted it and then looked back up to the girl. "I'm sorry," his Japanese was rapid, now that he assumed she spoke it, "I didn't mean to disturb you." He paused for a moment. "What's your name? I don't think I've seen you around before."
Hide flashed a grin, unaware that his words would probably be lost in translation.

A blank stare, a furrowed brow. These seemed to be more common in her life now, she got those expression alot these days. She looked at his pink hair, then to his sunglasses, which made him look even more odd. to be honest, He looked like a hot pink fly. As he stopped playing, she smiled and watched him pat his guitar "thanks" she muttered.
Before she could turn and walk away, back to sulking in her reserved state of self pity, he began speaking. There they were, those damn jumbled words.. only instead of scribbled on paper, they were pouring from the boys mouth like a rapid river. She hadn't even had time to catch even the faintest form of a word. Lord, was she not the sorriest excuse for a japanese student? "Well umm... I'm sorry.... but... er.. I dont understand you." She felt like an idiot, standing there before this boy who was obviously trying to tell her something, and she stood staring at him as if he had just grown another arm and a horn in the middle of his head.

Hideki frowned at her. He didn't want to speak English, he had never been good at it. All the same, he would try. "What is..." His accent was so thick that his words were hardly understandable, but he was speaking much more slowly, so maybe Majesta would get that. "What is... Your name?"
He looked hopefully at the girl, but honestly he could tell she didn't really want to talk to him. Did anyone really want to talk to a pink-haired fly? He pushed his sunglasses up on his nose and licked his lips momentarily. Hide looked down to his feet in embarrassment and then back up.
"Do you..." He paused, racking his brain for the correct English words. "Do you able to... Speak, ehh... Or read Japanese?" His eyes were hopeful behind his sunglasses, because speaking slowly or writing down what he wanted to say was much easier than this English thing.

She watched him frown, then struggle to search for the right words in english. She knew how he felt, not knowing exactly how to say what you want. It was tough and here they both were trying to figure out the others native tongue, even though English was not hers. "What is.. your name?" She got that much, his accent was thick, but she pulled the english words out of his sentence. "My Name? Its Majesta... but you can call me Maj if you'd rather" Her accent was just as thick as his, most likely making it hard for him to understand s well.
A slender handd lifted to push the sweeping bangs from her view and her blue eyes fell on him once more, taking note of his every move. As he looked down at his feet, so did she. This was just another one of the quirks that she didn't like about this culture. She absolutely loathed feet and in school, it was customary and required that you remove your shoes upon entrance.
As he spoke, she nodded and showed him her Japanese 3 study book, then tried her hand at japanese "I can speak and read a little Japanese" Her spoken japenese wouldn't have been half bad if it had not been shrouded in a thick French accent. She looked at him with a questioning glance "good?" She asked in english.

"Hai, hai, good," Hide replied more slowly this time, pleased that she had understood, "My name is Yamamoto Hideki." He spoke in Japanese this time, but slow enough that she could probably understand. Her accent was thick, but Hide understood well enough. And besides, he knew he didn't have any room to talk about accents, his in any other language made him almost incomprehensible.
"Where are you from?" He asked her slowly, smiling this time to go with it. He was much more comfortable in Japanese, even if he was still a little shy and embarrassed talking to Majesta. She had to know something as simple as that, right? Hide decided he would have to choose his words carefully.
He pushed his hair out of his face and then scooted over on the bench so that the girl could sit down if she wanted to. His guitar was still on his lap, but he had pulled the neck up so that it rest on his shoulder. Politeness was important in Japan, Hide knew, but he wasn't as formal as he probably should have been.

"Yamamoto Hideki" She repeated the name slowly giving a slight smile in return. She had to focuse on his words to understand them, but it wasn't all that hard, she had been studying long enough. Hopefully she would have Japanese down in no time, along with the other two languages that she had to keep fresh in her mind.
once he scooted over on the bench, she smiled and nodded, seating herself next to him. "I'm from Camargue, France"She responded, glancing at him, still amazed by his overly vibrant hair. Her gaze then shifted down to his guitar and she smiled. Her brother had always played the guitar for her after her father had a drunken night, Thats a nice... umm... guitar" She said wincing at her rather poor Japenes, she wasn't even sure if she had been using the right words. She shrugged and looked back up at him.

Hide nodded. "Hai, Yamamoto Hideki." He smiled, pushing his hair out of his face. This was going to be a little easier than he had originally thought, which was nice. He worried a bit about accidentally going a bit too fast, but he would cross that bridge when he came to it.
"France?" Hide seemed surprised like this. He had just assumed that she was from the States, even with her accent. "Wow. I'm from right here." He chuckled, nodding slightly and then looking at his guitar.
"Eh? Oh." Hide strummed the strings of it with a wide grin and then looked back to Majesta. "Hai. I have three of them, this one is my only acoustic." He looked back at her. "Do you play any instruments?"

&& maybe it's not my weekend Ok, so maybe this whole Japanese language wasn't so hard... when Hide talked slow, but if he had talked at normal speed she would have been completely and totally lost "Yamamoto Hideki is a nice name... Is there a shorter version?" She asked, not that she didn't like his name, calling him by his full name seemed a bit too formal for her.
"France, hai" She responded. He was from here, like that was something she didn't expect. He knew the language, he seemed so at home at at ease with the customs and people. "yeah, I kinda figured"
She watched as he strummed the acoustic, the sound bringing back horrid memories with a bit of goodness in them. The goodness being her brother playing for her. "Hai, I play the Piano.. and a few songs on the guitar, just what my brother taught me" She looked down at her non-shoed feet then straighten out her skirt in a slight moment of awkwardness. Hide blinked momentarily. It was a little awkward for someone he'd just met to want to call him by his nickname, but he knew that Majesta probably wasn't used to the whole surname thing. "Hai, Hide is okay." He smiled.
"Maji de..." Hide seemed kind of amazed at this. "I've never been outside of Japan." He pushed some hair back. He really wanted to travel the world, and especially see the United States. But until he finished school, he was stuck in Kishiwada.
"Mhm," he thought about that. The piano was something he'd wanted to play, but he got too fed up with it and preferred the guitar. It was his preferred method of communication, actually, even above talking. Hideki usually wasn't one to talk much; it appeared Majesta had struck his interest.
